There are currently some limitations to the website and these will be addressed over the coming months.
Once you have registered a surname and its variants, you are currently unable to add or delete variants or the study as a whole. If you need any changes, please email the Webmaster.
Members are currently limited to nine variants per surname. If you want more than nine variants associated with your study, please email the details to the Webmaster.
If you have a collaborative study and want your own dedicated forum discussion area that is visible to non-members, please contact the Webmaster.
This is currently unmoderated. Please be reasonable with your discussions so that moderation is unnecessary. Please don't drift from the subject of Surname Studies as this is not a general chat room.
If you need to change your personal details, email address, mailing address etc, this can be done on the 'Edit Membership Details' page. This is where you can also change your password.
If you have any genealogical events to be added to the calendar, please email the details to the Secretary.
Over the coming months, new facilities will be added to the website. If there is anything you would like to see, please put your ideas on the Suggestion Board in the forum.
It is intended to offer study archiving functionality, member databases and more as the society grows.
